I will step down as GFA President in 2019- Kwesi Nyantakyi

The President of the Ghana Football Association has reiterated his decision to not to seek reelection in 2019.

Nyantakyi has been in office as the GFA president since 2005 and his current term will expire in next two years.

And the legal practitioner who would serve a 14 year tenure in 2019 is no more interested in seeking another term of office

''Somehow somewhere I will quit. I believe that the time will come that I will have to put down my tools and take off my boots.

“I have announced already that after the end of my tenure I will not seek re-election,'' Nyantakyi said on Joy News Upfront Show on Wednesday, September 27.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has risen through the ranks of football hierarchy, from WAFU zone B President to the Vice President of CAF and FIFA Executive Council member within the period he has been in football administration.

The bankroller of Wa All Stars was the first GFA President to qualify Ghana for the FIFA World Cup in 2006 and under his watch Ghana became the first African nation to win the FIFA U-20 FIFA World Cup

Nyantakyi’s club Wa All Stars are currently the champion of the Ghana Premier League.
