Ghana international Frank Acheampong has disclosed his reasons for moving to China, insisting he had to “secure” his future.

The Ghana winger says his future, as well as that of his family, played a key role in his decision to move to the Chinese League.

The 23-year-old joined Chinese Super League side, Tianjin Teda on loan from Belgian giants Anderlecht last week, despite being courted by some clubs from Europe’s top leagues.
Acheampong’s move to Asia surprised many, especially after the player himself openly admitted he wanted to play in the English Premiership.
However, the winger has now revealed his reasons for joining the Chinese Super League side.
According to him, no European club made a concrete offer, while also adding that the offer from Tianjin Teda was too good to reject.
“The English clubs were there but nothing was concrete but the people here [in China] were serious and the offer was good,” the former Berekum Chelsea man said in an interview with Ghanasoccernet.com.
“My club had a good deal and I am also okay with my part which will make my family happy and secure my future.
“I'm grateful to God for the deal and I hope to make a great impact here. And with God on my side, I will make it happen."
Acheampong had his first stint in Asia with Thai side Buriram United from 2011, before joining Anderlecht for a fee of €1 million in 2013,
