Two goals from Obed Owusu and Yakubu Mohammed handed Asante Kotoko a well-deserved 2-1 victory over Wa All Stars on Saturday in Kumasi.

But an Obed Owusu's header the 20th minute and a 51st minute striker from Yakubu Mohammed were enough to give Steve Pollack's side the victory in Kumasi.

Wa All Stars did not give up despite conceding two goal with an hour as they kept pressing for a consolation. The away side's efforts finally paid off in the 77th minute when Kweku Asuandzie netted to reduce Kotoko lead to 2-1.
