Adele Bellis, 23, had her ear destroyed and was left partially bald after Anthony Riley, 26, arranged for acid to be hurled in her face while she stood at a bus stop.
Riley, an amateur boxer had arranged for a heroin addict to slash Adele in a knife attack in her home town of Lowestoft, Suffolk, which left her with permanently scarring.
Adele was ambushed as she waited for a bus to work in her home town of Lowestoft, Suffolk on August 14 last year.
Recalling the attack, she said: "A guy in a tracksuit with scarf over his face approached me. He looked me in the eye and then walked past."
Her face 'melted away' after being doused in the corrosive liquid.
"It burned through my ear, I felt my face melting. I could feel my ear going, I knew it wasn't there anymore." Adele said in an interview with This Morning
She added: "I kept saying to people, "I haven't got an ear" and they didn't say anything, they tried to reassure me but I knew it was bad, it was just like my ear had dissolved."
Last month, Riley was convicted for his part in the horror attack. For Adele, the shocking incident marked the end of a violent relationship, in which she had been trapped for years.
'If it wasn't for this I would probably still be with him,' she said. 'It took this for me to open up and tell the police.'
After guilty verdicts were returned, Adele released a statement in which she spoke of her 'unimaginable pain and suffering ' but said she had been helped through the ordeal by friends, family and the Katie Piper Foundation.
She said: 'I will never forget what happened to me and it will always be in my mind but I am determined to live my life and I will survive this ordeal.'
