Burkina Faso hold hosts Gabon

Group A of this year's Africa Cup of Nations recorded its third consecutive drawn game on Wednesday afternoon.

Hosts Gabon played out a one-all draw with Burkina Faso in the opening game of match day two at the Stade de l'Amitie in Libreville.

Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang saved the home side with a penalty in the 38th minute to cancel out Prejuce Nakoulma's 28th minute opener for the Burkinabes.

The was the third 1-1 result from this group, following the same results from Gabon-Guinea Bissau and Burkina Faso-Cameroon on January 14.

Hugo Broos' Cameroon face Baciro Cande's AFCON debutants Guinea Bissau in the other Group fixture later on Wednesday.
