Andy Yiadom excited over inclusion in provisional 26-man squad

Andy Yiadoma has expressed his joy for being named in coach Avram Grants provisional 26-man squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.

The 25-year-old full-back has been enjoying consistent play in the English Championship and has been rated as one of best dribblers in the English second tier.

Yiadom was handed his maiden Black Stars call-up in Ghana's 0-2 defeat against Egypt, but he was an unused substitute in that game.

And has also included in Avram Grant's provisional 26-man squad for the continental showpiece in Gabon.

Andy Yiadom says he delighted to make the cut for Avram Grant's provisional AFCON squad.

“It’s very good to be included," Yiadom said following his naming on Monday in the 26-man provisional squad for the tournament.

"I went away with them last time which was a great experience. I was on the bench and didn’t get to play but it was a great experience.

"There are more games in the African Cup of Nations, so fingers crossed - I can get some minutes.

“I’m fortunate to be doing ok and playing for Barnsley week in week out, so I am fortunate to get called up."
