Avram Grant has appealed to the government of Ghana to resolve the issue of low slararies paid to players on the domestic scene, adding that it affects the quality of play.
Grant who announced on Monday that he won't be signing a new contract with the Black Stars selected just a player from the Ghana Premier league when he named his final 23-man squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon has called on government to do something about the low remuneration for local players.
"The salary of players in the Ghana Premier League is not good. With this kind of salary, you won’t get certain qualities from the players so government must do something about it,” Grant told Metro TV.
The former Chelsea boss couldn't meet the expectations of teh Ghana Football Association, as the Black Stars failed to win gold in the just ended AFCON in Gabon.
