Sanni Darra says Avram Grants salary was not close to the $50,000 salary the people perceived, but cant disclose the exact amount due to confidentiality clause which was in the contract of the Israeli.
Avram Grant was in charge of the Black Stars for a two-year period, within which he propelled Ghana to a 2nd place and 4th place finish in the 2015 and the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, respectively.
However, he came under intense criticisms over failure to pay much attention to the domestic league due to his frequent travels abroad.
Most Ghanaian were much concerned with the $50,000 salary Avram Grant was paid, but Sanni Darra says the former Chelsea was taking less than that amount.
“Ghana did not pay Avram Grant $50,000 salary. His take home was about… [pauses]. I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention," he told Starr FM.
“[Yes] he is gone but you have always the case where one day you would be told you have an NDA [Non-Disclosure Agreement] but he was not paid close to [the $50,000].
“We said it consistently [that it was not true] but because of the contract you have, you are not obliged to put out the figure…” the Ghana FA spokesperson added.
