He expressed hope that President John Mahama would win a second term, “the area of uncertainty is the number of parliamentary seats the party is going to win”.To surmount these challenges in the constituencies Bagbin called on the national campaign committee to adopt strategies tailored at solving all interpersonal relationship issues within the various constituencies.

“I believe this will ensure we win a large number in parliament. A target of not less than a two-thirds majority in parliament is an imperative for this party and the country for two reasons: the realisation of the national call for constitutional reforms and saving the nation from the pain and waste occasioned by decisions of parliament such as the disapproval of the constitutional amendment bill 2016. This particular decision has set back the clock of democratic development."
