Government goofed during their 2017 budget presentation by allocating funds for the Black Satellites participation in the 2017 African Youth Championship in Zambia, despite the teams failure to secure qualification.

Ghana were denied a place in the 2017 Africa Youth Championship by Senegal in a two legged tie.
The Black Satellites will have to wait for another two years to look forward to booking a place in the African Youth Championship, a tournament which is the gateway to the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
However, the new Ghana government in its first budget for 2017 has allocated funds for the Black Satellites for a competition they couldn't qualify.

"In 2017, the Ministry will facilitate the participation of the African U-20 and U-17 Championships in Zambia and Gabon, respectively,"Â the document reads.
The 2017 African U-20 Championship kicked off on 26th February in Zambia.
