A statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Flagstaff House, Eugene Arhin, said the “appointments take effect forthwith.”
The three top security officials prior to the confirmation were serving in an acting capacity.
It is still unclear whether the president will extend the mandate of the IGP who is due for retirement this year.
The last two IGPs had their mandate extended for them because at the time of their appointment, they were almost retiring from the service.
