Asante Kotoko came from a goal down to beat Liberty Professionals 2-1 on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.

Benjamin Eshun put Liberty Professionals into the lead in the 32nd minute.
However, Liberty Professionals couldn't hold on to their lead as Kotoko controlled the pace of the game in the second half and consequently scored two goals through new recruit Yakubu Mohammed.
Yakubu became the first player to score a brace in the opening day of the Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko introduced Ollenu Ashitey, former Hearts of Oak schemer to dazzle the the visitors and created some decent chances.
