Out of that figure, more than GH¢35 million will be disbursed to schools in the Upper East, Upper West, and the Northern regions as part payment of the debts owed them by government.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has denied reports that the said schools in the Northern region have been closed down over delays in the release of feeding grants.

According to GES, the students were asked to go home due to the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).
