France to relocate Embassy in Ghana

At an event to commission the construction of the new French Embassy, President Nana Akufo-Addo expressed the government’s deep satisfaction at France’s decision to resettle their embassy.

The French Embassy in Ghana will soon move from its present location to the current residence of the French Ambassador to Ghana in Cantonments.

The current French Embassy shares the premises with the Flagstaff House, the seat of government.

He further assured them that the relocation exercise will be done without political difficulties.

On his part, the French ambassador to Ghana, Pujolas Francois Pujolas assured that the new edifice will be completed within 18 months.

He added that the building of the French embassy in Ghana is a “symbol” of the confidence France has in Ghana.

Many Ghanaians have spoken about the security threats it poses to the country even before the construction of the building was completed.

Some said that the French intelligence satellite could interfere with that of government of Ghana.
