Parliament has approved the nomination of 11 persons to be sworn in as ministers by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

They are Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Catherine Afeku; Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu; Minister for Special Development Initiative, Mavis Hawa Koomson; Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye and Minister of Inner cities and Zongo Development, Abubakar Boniface Siddique.

The rest are Minister of Business Development, Ibrahim Mohammed Awal; Minister for Information, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid; Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi; Minister of Aviation, Cecelia Dapaah; Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah; Minister for Planning, Professor Gyan Baffour.

The 11 ministers were vetted by the Appointments Committee this week and are expected to be sworn into office by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

--National Service brouhaha--

It will be recalled that the Minority in Parliament resisted the approval of Madam Afisa Otiko Djaba because she did not do her national service.

They argue that they do not want to be part of an illegality by approving her.

Two MPs from the Minority have since petitioned the Supreme Court to revert her appointment.
