Denmark club FC Copenhagen have confirmed they have received an offer for Ghanaian player Daniel Amartey from English Premier League side Leicester City.
Amartey has been a long term transfer target for Jeffrey Schlupp’s side who are flying high on the Premier League table, level on points with league leaders Arsenal. Claudio Ranieri looks to strengthen his squad for the battle at the top of the Premier League table and the Ghanaian player who can play in both defence and midfielder fits what he wants.
Leicester City are reported to have made a £6 million transfer bid to FC Copenhagen for the services of the Ghanaian star.
The Danish club confirmed the transfer bid in a statement:
“There has been rumours in the press about FC Copenhagen considering selling Daniel Amartey to the English club Leicester City.”
“FC Copenhagen can confirm that we have received an offer on Daniel Amartey from Leicester City FC. Right now there’s talks between the two clubs. We will send out a new press release if a final agreement is reached.”
Daniel Amartey has also had transfer interest from Premier League side Liverpool in the past and some clubs from the Italian Serie A.
