Spanish club Real Madrid have sacked their manager Rafael Benitez just seven months after taking over from Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez confirmed the sack on Monday afternoon with an official announcement expected imminently.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea coach’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu will see Zinedine Zidane take over as boss.
The board of the Spanish club decided to end Benitez's reign as boss following an emergency meeting due to poor results and strained relationship with some members of the squad.
