The policy is aimed at delivering a well-organised, decentralised intervention by providing disadvantaged school children with nutritionally adequate food.

The ministry anticipates to decrease poverty through improved household incomes as a result, and also spur local economic development.

Nana Oye Lithur was confident that the policy would continue to strengthen efforts to providing Ghanaian children with quality food including quality education.
