The event saw performances from Ghanaian artistes; Efya and KiDi, Nigerian artistes; Patoranking, Phyno, Olamide, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, Togolese artiste Toofan, Congolese artiste Fally Ipupa, among others.

Aiteo CAF Awards 2017 came off at the Accra International Conference Centre Thursday, January 4, 2018 with many African artistes on the stage.

The event saw performances from Ghanaian artistes; Efya and KiDi, Nigerian artistes; Patoranking, Phyno, Olamide, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, Togolese artiste Toofan, Congolese artiste Fally Ipupa, among others.

Initially, Ghanaian singer and producer Shatta Wale was billed to be among the headline performers but was missing on stage on the wonderful night of African football.

This raised many questions on social media as to why the reigning Ghanaian musician was sidelined from the awards night.

Even though many fans of the self-acclaimed 'King of Ghana Dancehall' claimed there was a breach of contract on the part of the organisers, hence, Shatta Wale's absence, information reaching Pulse.com.gh suggests otherwise.

According to a close source, Shatta Wale was cut from the ceremony because he refused to show up at the rehearsals. The source said other artistes were present at the rehearsal grounds.

Efya opened the awards ceremony and closed by Lynx Entertainment record label's KiDi.
