Mother puts 2-year-old daughter in oven

A 35 year old Texas mother, Tasha Hatcher, was jailed on Thursday for allegedly putting her two-year-old daughter in the oven which left the toddler with third degree burns following the bizarre act.

A Texas woman, Tasha Shontell Hatcher has being arrested after allegedly putting her 2-year-old daughter in an oven, leaving the little girl with severe burns.

Tasha, 35, was charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury in connection to the March 17 incident, the Associated Press reported on Sunday.

The girl's uncle says he and other relatives have been barred from having any contact with the toddler while the investigation is on going.The toddler is still in hospital, according to Fox 4. She is sedated but is believed to be in a stable condition.

Witnesses reported to deputies that Hatcher told them she had placed the toddler in an oven, the statement said.

The girl was being treated at a burn center in Dallas for second and third-degree burns. She was placed in the custody of Child Protection Services, according to KDWF, agency spokesperson.
