Many of the contestants felt a connection with the country, and a number of them posted Instagram photos detailing their time there. Korey Kuhl, who is partnered with Tyler Oakley, posted a photo explaining why preparing raw meat (one of the episode's challenges) made him "emotional."
"The day started off with a beautiful ceremony of presenting gifts to local monks and then in true Race fashion things get a little more chaotic," he wrote. "Doing this task made me super emotional because I come from a family of butchers and I could feel my grandparents, dad, and brothers helping me while we were there that morning."

Eliza Orlins is partnered with fellow Survivor alum Corrine Kaplan, and she's actually been to Laos before. "Laos is such a special and beautiful country and I wasnt sure I would ever get to go back," Orlins wrote on Instagram.
View this post on Instagram The first time I was in Luang Prabang was in 2013. I was traveling through Asia and my mom met me in Laos. Laos is such a special and beautiful country and I wasnt sure I would ever get to go back. Every morning at sunrise people line the streets of Luang Prabang in order to offer alms of cooked rice to dozens of Buddhist monks in their bright orange robes. This is a longstanding tradition in Laos Buddhist culture, which I have been lucky enough to take part in TWICE!! I am so grateful to have gotten to do this both with my mom and on The Amazing Race. Tune in Wednesday night at 9pm on CBS to watch @theamazingrace_cbs! A post shared by Eliza Orlins (@eorlins) on Apr 23, 2019 at 4:34am PDT
Rachel Reilly is back on Amazing Race, but this time she's with her sister Elissa Slater. Reilly posted a photo of the contestants with a number of Buddhist monks, and she wrote that the experience taught her that she needs to slow down. "Ive had to teach my self to take time to stop look around and really focus on what Im doing where I am and who Im experiencing life with," she said.
View this post on Instagram Taking my morning to be thankful! Thankful Ive had so many amazing opportunities and seen so many cultures! These little monks in #laungprabang can teach us so much! We had the opportunity to gift them a simple meal while they continued their service and studies! Thankful to experience so many cultures and peoples of the world!!!! Also such a beautiful country to visit and experience! Sometimes while racing we had to focus on stopping and enjoying where we were and what we were doing! Life is like the @theamazingrace_cbs sometimes we race to get where were going to our tasks really quickly and then race to the next destination- Ive had to teach my self to take time to stop look around and really focus on what Im doing where I am and who Im experiencing life with! #AMAZINGRACE #TAR31 #Momlife #sisters #slowdown #meditation #focus #learning #laos A post shared by Rachel Reilly (@rachelereillyvillegas) on Apr 24, 2019 at 8:14am PDT
Amazing Race Colin Guinn is back with his wife Christie Woods, and he posted a sneak peek of tonight's episode, calling it "a rare moment on The Amazing Race when you get to drop in and simply appreciate the local culture."
