Hoverboards, also known as Swagboards (a cross between a Segway and a skateboard), are here and it seems like they are here to stay.
Initially, hoverboards started as just a social media sensation.
Now, both foreign and Nigerian celebrities like Peter Okoye, Davido, Skales, are all into them.
Apart from just being a cool new toy, the hoverboards are actually functional.
They help you move around with little energy or effort on your part, all thanks to the two driver motors, within the wheels, that help you make easy turns, rotation, acceleration and smooth braking.
Another good thing about them is that they require very little training.
As usual, these things are very rarely without any concerns.
Like every other popular thing in 2015, the hoverboard makes you look silly especially at the beginning, just like selfie sticks.
The fact that they are sold at a very outrageous price, N138,000, in Nigeria is a very big problem.
No wonder, they only seem to be popular with celebrities.
There is no denying that they seem very cool, however, the possibility of them lasting for very long in Nigeria, due to how pricey they are, is questionable.
