Asante Kotoko left it late to edge NEA Salamina 2-1 on Wednesday in their outstanding MTN FA Cup quarter finals clash on Wednesday.

Saddick Adams opened the scoring in the 12 minute, before Obeng Junior drew the lower division side in the 35 minute.

NEA Salamina after the break managed to hold the Porcupine Warriors until when it appeared the game was heading to extra time that the hosts were awarded a contentious penalty by referee Nuhu Liman.

Amos Frimpong stepped forward and succeeded in putting the ball beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

Asante Kotoko have now joined Hearts of Oak, Wa All Stars and Medeama as they vie for a place in the final.
