Army rescues 160 more captives from Sambisa Forest

The Nigerian Army has rescued 160 more captives from Sambisa Forest, a notorious Boko Haram stronghold.

"We are still trying to compute the actual number of those rescued. But tentatively there are about 60 women of various ages and around 100 children," Colonel Sani Usman told AFP.

"They have been evacuated to a safety zone for further processing,” Usman said further.

The spokesman added that one woman had been killed in the operation while eight of the rescued captives were injured.

The Nigerian Army, on Tuesday, April 28, also rescued 293 women and girls from the forest.
