PDP vows to challenge results

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to challenge the results of Nigeria’s recently held presidential elections.

The PDP lost the elections to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari was declared winner on Tuesday, March 31, by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega.

However, the PDP agent at the INEC collation centre, Bello Fadile refused to sign the result sheet saying that the party would head to court to challenge the outcome of the polls.

“Whether I sign it (the result sheet) or I don’t sign it, does not make any difference. It doesn’t invalidate the result‎. When we go to court, then we can challenge the result,” Fadile said.

President Goodluck Jonathan, the PDP presidential candidate, has however conceded defeat and congratulated Buhari on his victory.
