"Rise in defilement cases in 2015 depicts a positive move"

The Tema Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Paul Manly Awini, has revealed that the rise in defilement cases in 2015 depicts a positive move towards fighting issues of defilement in the region.

According to reports, the Tema Municipality recorded an increase of about 13 percent in defilement cases in 2015 as compared to 2014.
In 2014, the region had about 99 cases of defilement but recorded additional 13 cases in 2015.
Mr. Awini added that, “If you look at it closely we can say that the police did their work well. The DOVVSU (Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit) educated the public more”.
