Wahab Oluwasuen defend national super featherweight belt

The Fight Night came off on Saturday, October 29, 2016.

Azumah Nelson’s V.I.P Fight Night Round II came off last Saturday at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel. The card featured two championship bouts and three undercard fights.

The card which was promoted by HeMann Promotions in conjunction with Azumah Nelson Boxing attracted boxing luminaries such as former world champions D.K Poison, Alfred Kotey and Joseph Agbeko.

In the main event, Wahab Oluwasuen defended his national super featherweight belt via a unanimous decision over Michael Ansah. After twelve rounds of the clash, the judges score card were 119- 109, 117-112 and 118-110 all in favour of Wahab

The co-main event featured a vacant national welterweight clash between Joseph Lamptey and Ben Ankrah. After twelve rounds, Lamptey won via a split decision, two judges scored it 1116-112, 116-115 for Lamptey and one judge had 114-116 for Ankrah.

For the undercard fights, Robert Quaye recorded a one-sided decision win over Abraham Afful in their scheduled super lightweight contest billed for eight rounds. All the three judges scored it 79-73, 77-74 and 78-73 for Quaye.

In the super feathweight duel billed for eight rounds, Patrick Ayi was simply too much for Isaac Dowuona. Ayi won via a unanmimous decision, the scores were 79-73, 77-74 and 78-75.

Felix Williams decisioned Isaac Nettey in their scheduled feathweight contest, Williams won on all the judges score card (80-72).
