Emmanuel Frimpong is expected to join an unnamed Swedish club during the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old currently plays for Russian top flight side Arsenal Tula.
“We have agreed with Frimpong that he leaves the club,” Dmitry Balashov, the Director of Arsenal Tula, told Championat. “We are in dialogue with a Swedish club, whose name I cannot mention. The loan will last until the summer.”

Balashov added that it is unlikely that Frimpong, currently on a one- and-a-half year contract, will play for the Russian club again even after the loan.
Last week, the Ghana midfielder, alongside 12 other players, was humiliatingly demoted to Arsenal Tula's B team.
His spokesperson revealed to Sport-Express that he had been suspended after falling out with Arsenal Tula coach Sergey Kiriakov.

This is the second time Frimpong is being released by a club in Russia - in April last year, he was let go by FC Ufa, after a stint plagued by injuries and controversies - including being sent off for showing the middle finger to racist fans.
The controversial Frimpong, a product of the youth academy of English giants Arsenal, has struggled to live up to a once promising potential. He made only 16 appearances across two seasons for The Gunners' senior team from 2011 to 2013 - a period that saw him loaned out three times - to Wolverhampton Wanders, Charlton Athletic and Fulham - clubs at which he failed to hit double figures in appearances.

He moved to Russia in September 2014, after an unsuccessful four-month stint at Barnsley.
Frimpong is capped once with Ghana, after representing England's U-16 and U-17 sides.
