Alex Amankwah qualifies for 2017 IAAF World Championships

The Ghanaian middle-distance runner athlete clocked a time of 1:44.80, breaking Kennedy Osei's national record 1:45.13 set in 1994.

Sprinter Alex Amankwah has qualified for the men's 800m of the upcoming 2017 IAAF World Champship.

Amankwah, 25, had been pushing for qualification since the outdoor season began and was excited at picking qualifying, having missed the 2015 World Championships in China due to problems with her entry visa.

The 2017 IAAF World Championships is slated for August 4-13 in London.
