An annual inter-school quiz competition was held for basic schools in the Sege constituency in Greater Accra region to help raise the standard of education in the district.
The quiz competition involved pupils from two selected basic schools which were Glorious Home academy and Sege Community Junior High School.
The quiz organised to mark the 2nd annual Segefest hosted by the youth of Sege was to improve the quality of education through the reduction of teenage pregnancy and drug abuse among the youth.
Addressing the gathering, District Chief Executive Officer of Ada West, Anthony Yaw Klokpa, was optimistic more competitions will have a positive impact on education in the Ada West disctrict.
The Member of Parliament for Sege Constituency, Mr Christian Koletey Otuteye, has assured scholarships to 3 brilliant, needy Junior High School students, from his share of the MP’s Common Fund.

The package will cover the beneficiaries’ fees for their three-year SHS education.
The MP said he was committed to improving education at the basic and senior high school levels, pointing out that the best way to improve education in the area was to institute a scholarship, which would encourage students to study hard.
The winners and participants of the competition were presented with awards.
