Lazio line up £13m for Ghanaian defender
Italian club Lazio are preparing a transfer bid for Ghana international and Chelsea defender Abdul Baba Rahman.
The 21-year-old left back joined Chelsea from German Bundesliga club Augsburg last summer with the Stamford Bridge outfit paying transfer money in the region of £21.7 million.
Baba Rahman has had ups and downs at Chelsea struggling at some points to get playing time. The Ghanaian player made 23 appearances for the team that ended their season 10th on the English Premier League table.
The Black Stars defender started only 11 league games out of the 38 with Cesar Azpilicueta usually deployed at left-back in the Chelsea team, a position Baba Rahman plays.
The transfer deal could also depend on new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. The manager for Italy at the Euro 2016 will take over the Stamford Bridge outfit for next season. With his tactics of playing three defenders at the back and deploying wing backs, he would make the final decision on Baba Rahman leaving or staying at the club.
