Andre Ayew scored Ghana’s winner as they defeated DR Congo 2-1 to equal Asamoah Gyan as the all-time topscorer of Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The goal was his eighth for the Black Stars in a journey that began in 2010. Ayew’s first goal in the AFCON was against Burkina Faso in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.

Andre Ayew is likely to captain the Black Stars in the semi-finals tie against Cameroon on Thursday in the absence of substantive skipper Asamoah Gyan who is not fully fit, after picking up an injury against Egypt.
