The court of Arbitration for Sports has temporarily upheld the protest of Tema Youth against the Ghana FA.
Tema Youth filed a protest against Dreams FC in respect of the registration of Daniel Gozar/Cudjoe Mensah, arguing the same player registered with two clubs with two different names.
However, Dreams FC were not found of any wrong doing by the various adjudication bodies of the Ghana Football Association, despite punishing Daniel Gozar/Cudjoe Mensah for deceiving the club.
Tema Youth who weren’t satisfied with the ruling filed a case against the decision of the GFA at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
And following several months of waiting, the court has finally brought out their verdict on the matter by ordering the GFA to form a new Appeals Committee to sit on the case and pay over $3,000 to Tema Youth as their portion of the debt incurred by the club at CAS in the adjudication process.
A review of the case by the reconstituted Appeals Committee could call for the demotion of Dreams FC for using an unqualified player during some of their division one league games. Tema Youth on the other hand would benefit from such an action by gaining promotion.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Premier League has reached match day 18 and Dreams FC are lying 7th on the log sheet, putting up a good display in their quest to stay in the topflight division.
