Inter Allies and Dwarfs share honours in Tema

Match report of the Ghana Premier League game between Inter Allies and Ebusua Dwarfs.

Inter Allies came from behind twice to hold rejuvenated Ebusua Dwarfs at the Tema sports stadium on Wednesday.

Ebusua Dwarfs broke the deadlock courtesy of Nicholas Gyan three minutes into the game, but Gockel Ahortor was on point to draw parity for Jimmy Cobblah's men three minutes later from the penalty spot.

The Cape Coast-based side had their noses in front again through Amoah Mensah and it looked like the Abonto Bontoa Boys were heading out of Tema with all points with a just a couple of minutes to play at the Tema sports stadium.

However, substitute, Abdul Halik Hudu scored a controversial leveller for Inter Allies. Assistant referee rejected the goal claiming it was side netting, but after a consultation with centre referee, the goal stood and there was all to be played for.

With neither side failing to score after ten minutes of added time, honours were shared equally.

Early on in the game, it looked as though Inter Allies would be frustrated despite dominating the early exchanges in the game when Nicholas Gyan struck to sink  the Eleven Is To One, but Gockel Ahortor was on hand to hit the equaliser from 12-yards.

Both sides struggled to break through, only for James Amoah to hammer home to put Prosper Nartey's men in front 11 minutes into the second half.

Jimmy Cobblah brought on Prince Baffoe and Ropapa Mensah for Sheriff Deo Mohammed and Evans Mensah respectively to double the numbers in his attacking front, before adding youngster Abdul Halik Hudu with 20 minutes to play and he immediately made an impact, saving the blushes of his teammates.

It was controversial equaliser. The young midfielder powered in the ball from the right end of the midfield into the net, but the assistant referee decided otherwise to the dissatisfaction of players and officials of Allies.

However, after careful tête a tête, the two officials agreed it was a goal, and pointed to the spot for Dwarfs to start the game over again.

The final minutes became a physical battle as the two teams searched for the winner, but it went down the wire. There was 10 minutes of added time to make up for the minutes spent on the deliberation of Hudu's goal, and each side held on to secure a point.
