Peter Amenyo, playing off handicap zero stood tallest once again when the MTN Golf Classic golf tournament returned to the Tema Country Golf Club at the weekend, after he defeated Ekow Nyarko on countback to clinch the ultimate after both golfers ended on net 68 in the men’s group A division.

Nyarko who played off handicap 5 had to settle for the runner-up spot ahead of Patrick Tender who returned 69 net and Godwin Asem (net 72) who finished 3rd and 4th respectively.
Evergreen Mona Captan was the heroine once again in the women’s group A category, returning a net score of 72 playing off handicap 10 to beat runner-up Adelaide Owusu Adjapong who played off handicap 18 on countback with Aku Yabah (handicap 18) taking third place on net 73.
In men’s group B categorized within handicap 19 to 28, Chris Aidoo emerged the winner after returning 67 net off handicap 28, Joe Dadson returned net 70 playing off handicap 24 to take second place, former Ghanaian Minister of State, Felix Owusu Adjapong went home with the trophy for third place off a net return of 73 beating 4th placed C. Sallies on countback.
The women’s group B winner was Gladys Awuni playing off handicap 31 who beat second placed Naomi Addo (handicap 33) by a single point, 73 to 74 .
All winners received various prizes from the MTN sponsors who use the tournament to commemorate their 20th anniversary celebrations and 4G launch amid mouthwatering prizes for the various winners at the Tema Country Golf Club.
