Eleven people arrested in connection with the raid at the NPP headquarters have been granted bail to the tune of ten thousand cedis with two sureties. They also signed a bond to be of good behavior. Some armed men believed to be wearing military uniforms broke into the office of the party at Asylum Down on Monday dawn and ransacked the offices.

Ghana has significantly improved its ranking on the 2015 World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Index. Ghana jumped from the 101 position in last year's ranking to 63rd out of the 145 countries. The report ranks the ability of 145 countries to narrow the gender gap in four fundamental areas i.e economic participation and opportunity, education attainment, health and survival and political empowerment.

A plane carrying about 500 Nigerians deported from the UK has landed in Nigeria's main city of Lagos. This follows a recent announcement by the UK authorities that they are going to deport about 29,000 Nigerians. But Nigeria has insisted that due process be followed before Nigerians are removed from the UK.

A new report released by the international anti-corruption organization, Transparency International has raised questions about major telecommunication companies for several levels of inadequate transparency on how they organize themselves and their operations in different countries. In the first-ever assessment of the major telecoms companies’ transparency in corporate reporting, 27 out of the 35 largest firms measured do not disclose where their subsidiaries operate and only four companies reveal information on their tax payments in each of the countries in which they are active.
