As is usual with a change of government, some unruly elements take that chance to attempt to take over some public buildings

He said it is be becoming clear that the President is the Commander-in-Chief of vigilante groups, Delta and Invincible Forces which belongs to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said Nana Addo's first responsibility is to guarantee the security of all Ghanaian citizens.

Addressing Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN), a student’s wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Bagabaga College of Education, Haruna Iddrisu who is the Member of Parliament for Tamale South reminded Nana Addo that he is the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and not Commander-In-Chief of the Invincible Force or Delta Force.

"I had cause to remind President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that his first responsibility as the first citizen and most important citizen is to guarantee the security of all Ghanaian citizens.  We have concerns about the creeping lawlessness in the country in the name of vigilante groups whether Delta Force or Invincible Force. Let him be reminded that he is Commander-in-Chief of Ghana Armed Forces and not Commander-in-Chief of the Invincible Force or Delta Force. He should raise them too well so that ever citizen can go about his/her normal duties without acts of intimidation or insecurity as a result of the activities of his vigilante groups," he said.

As is usual with a change of government, some unruly elements take that chance to attempt to take over some public buildings feeling they have been given some mandate to misbehave.

There is growing concern that the Police service is weak in dealing with political vigilantism. Groups like the NPP’s Delta Forces, Kandahar Boys, Burma Camp and Invisible Forces have grabbed headlines for boldly attacking state officials and locking up state buildings.
