Veep picks nomination forms for Mahama

Hundreds of party supporters clad in party colors thronged the party’s headquarters at Adabraka to support the president.

Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has picked the presidential nomination forms on behalf of President John Mahama ahead of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) primaries.

Reports suggest that the president was attending to other equally important issues.

The forms were presented to Mr Amissah-Arthur by the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

President Mahama is the second to pick presidential nomination forms for the NDC after George Boateng picked his few days ago.

The process that led to Mr. Boateng's acquisition of the forms has however generated controversy as two administrative officials have been sacked for issuing the forms to him.

According to the National Democratic Congress, it is only the party’s general secretary who has the mandate to issue the presidential forms to a presidential aspirant.

The NDC has set November 7 for its parliamentary and Presidential primaries.
