Don't hide your presidential ambitions - Stephen Atubiga dares NDC members

Atubiga said he'll contest even if former President John Mahama joins the NDC race

He said "the extent that other presidential hopefuls have not stated their full intention of running in contest in the presidential slot within the NDC, exposes their weakness as aspiring leaders."

Posters of the two-time failed parliamentary candidate aspirant of the NDC in the Binduri constituency as presidential candidate for elections 2020 have been trending on social media.

Even though the party is yet to open nominations for members to contest, Stephen Atubiga is lacing his boots to contest the presidential primaries of the NDC.

He said interested members of the party must be bold to declare their stance and face him in the elections.

He added that he'll contest even if former President John Mahama joins the NDC race.

In an interview on Accra-based Kasapa FM, he said, "Those who are not clear about their intentions are indecisive and not bold enough, they are not good leaders for this country. Besides that, I can tell you that they don’t know what is good for them. If you so wish to be President why are you hiding your ambitions? For me even if John Mahama decides to run again or not, I’ll still contest."

Names that have come up so far include the former majority Leader, Alban Bagbin, retired Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, former vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Victor Smith, Professor Joshua Alabi and former NHIS boss, Sylvester Mensah and former mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije.

Mahama is yet to declare his intentions whether or not to contest the 2020 flagbearer race of the NDC.
