NEC was right in suspending Afoko - Bugri Naabu
Speaking in an interview with Pulse.com.gh, Bugri Naabu said his suspension has been long overdue.
Speaking in an interview with Pulse.com.gh, Bugri Naabu said his suspension has been long overdue, adding that Afoko is "creating problems for the party. I think the NEC has taken the right direction."
The NPP's National Executive Committee (NEC) on Friday unanimously voted to suspend its National Chairman, Paul Afoko indefinitely.
The party’s decision follows a petition by Council of Elders to the Disciplinary committee of the party asking Afoko to step aside for working against the interest of the party.
But, the suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko, has said in a recent statement that he is still at post and has asked the public to disregard the notice of his suspension, adding that no illegal NEC can suspend him.
The Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP has, however, urged Afoko to rather channel his grievances to the National council.
"If he (Afoko) has any grievances, he can petition the National Council within 14 days. I think that will help him. But otherwise, I can't see anything that will disturb the party," he said.
"He may come back if he has a problem and he thinks he wasn't treated fairly. He can petition. They will look at it", Bugri Naabu added.
