Pray for forgiveness for embracing ‘demonic song’ - Chief Imam

The song which has become popular especially among the youth has been described as demonic by the Chief Imam.

The Chief Imam of Okaikwei South District, Ishamael Okotah Badoo has called on Ghanaians especially Muslims to plead for forgiveness after the ‘one corner’ song gained prominence.

Badoo told Accra-based Joy FM that “it is demonic. If it is not demonic, we have been listening to a lot of music but people will not jump when a motorcycle is going…or by force climb a tree. This is very dangerous.”

He argued that the dance that accompanies the song will affect children negatively.

“These are things that are coming to destroy our children on this land,” he said.

He called on religious leaders to pray to God for forgiveness over the matter.

“We are begging the Imams, we are begging the Pastors, the Reverends. We are begging everybody, let us go down on our knees and beg Allah.”

He added that he is certain God will forgive Ghanaians if they pray.

The ‘one-corner’ tune was composed by Swedru-based artiste Patapaa. It has transcended the borders of Ghana and reported to have gained grounds in Nigeria, U.K and the U.S.A.
