One of the frustrated applicants said he got to the bank t 3:00 am and they had not attended to him as at midday.
This is because of a system failure in the sale of electronic vouchers for the Ghana Police Service recruitment exercise.
One of the frustrated applicants who spoke to Accra-based Citi FM said he got to the bank t 3:00 am and they had not attended to him as at midday.
“I am here for the Police forms and I came here as early as 3:00 am. When we came, we sat here until 8.30. The Manager then told us to wait for a while. When he went into the office, he came back telling us to return next week for the other forms. We have been here for so many hours. I am stranded. It is stressful. They should give these forms to other institutions.”
Another applicant said “I have been here since yesterday [Monday]. I was here in the morning but the queue was too long so I decided to go home. I was here today around 5.30 am. We waited until 8:30 am, and we were asked to write our names. We did that and we were given some forms to fill.”
This is not the first time applicants have been left stranded at GCB branches in their attempt to purchase these forms.
Meanwhile, the managers of Asafo and Harper Road GCB refused to comment on the incident.
GCB is the only bank that sells vouchers which are used to complete the police application process online.
The registration voucher, which costs GH¢50 contains special codes which enable applicants to access registration forms on the Ghana Police Service’s website.
The recruitment process will end on December 15, 2017.
