3 men docked for abducting, gang-raping 17-yr-old girl

Three friends are in the dock for abducting a 17-year-old girl and raping her repeatedly.

Three kidnappers cum rapists have been arraigned before an Abuke Egba Magistrates' court sitting in Lagos, for allegedly abducting a 17-year-old girl and gang-raping her several times.

The accused, Emmanuel Omooye, 21, a bar man who lives at 43, Adedeji Street, Oshodi, Michael Badejo, 29, a student and 32-year-old Bashiru Umoru, a security man, who both live at 13, Akinlawusi Street, Oshodi, are facing a three-count charge of  of conspiracy, abduction and rape.

They were alleged to have abducted the girl who had run away from home after she was scolded by her aunt, at a hotel in Oshodi when she went to look for a job as was promised her by Omooye who works as a barman in the hotel, who took her to his house and kept her without her wish for 10 days.

They kept her drugged and took turns to rape her daily till she managed to call her uncle who went and took her away.

The prosecutor, Inspector Rachael Williams told the court:

"The victim was taken to the hospital because she was looking sick. It was at the hospital that she told her family members that she was drugged and raped by the three accused."
