The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus come equipped with a new A9 chip, which is a third-gen of the 64-bit chip apple has been using.
Design: The rumors were right after all, the next iPhone does come in a rose gold color and all iPhones will be made with a brand new Apple custom “7000 Aluminum” alloy, the type they use in the aerospace industry. There’s also a new screen made with stronger glass for the display.
3D Touch: There’s a new feature the company calls 3D Touch which the screen a new dimension. I’s basically based on Force Touch, which is already on the Apple Watch and new MacBooks, and with it users can hold down on any app to either ‘Peek’ or ‘Pop’.
Haptic feedback is also part of the feature to emphasize the 3D experience.
New A9 processor: The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus come equipped with a new A9 chip, which is a third-gen of the 64-bit chip apple has been using. It is built using a different architecture.
The A9 processor is 70 percent faster than the A8 chip used in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. It is supported by a brand new M9 co-processor that is always on, to aid in detecting motion for apps like Health. TouchID is also twice as fast, thanks to these processors.
Camera: For the first time in years, the iPhone is adding more megapixels to its camera department. The new phone comes with a 12-megapixel camera, which is a 50 percent improvement from older generations.
The new iSight camera can also take 4K video, which means each frame has 8 million pixels. The fron-facing FaceTime camera also gets an upgrade with a 5-megapixel shooter, which is a major step up from the iPhone 6’s 1.2 megapixels. There’s a new flash feature for the front camera that increases the retina display brightness for selfies.
There’s also Live Photo’s, a feature that works by taking a few extra frames before and after you snap a photo, so that each photo has a snippet of live action.
