5 best home remedies for burns

You can treat most first-degree burns or domestic burns less than three inches in diameter at home.

They are often referred to as superficial burns or minor burns. They can be caused by contact with hot fluids or objects or steam.

These minor burns can bring about painful blisters if not treated timely. Many natural remedies can promote healing and minimize pain. Minor burns tend to heal within a few days or up to three weeks.

The first thing you should do when you get a minor burn is run cool (not cold) water over the burn area for some time, approximately 20 minutes. Then wash the burned area with mild soap and water.

2.Vinegar

Vinegar has antiseptic properties very helpful in treating minor burns and preventing infection. You could dilute white vinegar or apple cider vinegar in an equal amount of water. Use the solution to rinse the burned area.

4. Aloe vera

Aloe vera is often referred to as “burn plant.” Studies show evidence that aloe vera is very effective in healing minor burns. Aloe is anti-inflammatory, promotes circulation. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria.

As tempting as it may be, leave your blisters alone. Bursting a blister yourself can lead to infection. If you’re worried about blisters that have formed due to your burn, see a medical professional.
