Dr. Pimple Popper Performs Atrophic Scar Excision

Well, here's something a little different from Dr. Pimple Popper. The dermatologist's latest viral YouTube video isn't an exploding cyst or a shockingly pus-filled dilated pore of winer , but an incredibly graphic scar removal.

In a new YouTube video posted Monday, dermatologist and TLC star Dr. Sandra Lee, MD (aka Dr. Pimple Popper) performs an atrophic scar excision. According to Healthline , an atrophic scar is an indented scar that occurs when the skin can't regenerate enough new tissue.

We've seen a lot of grisly content on Dr. Pimple Popper's feed, and this one is pretty graphic-even without the massive geysers of pus! Lee makes an eye-shaped incision around the atrophic scar, then cuts out the whole entire thing. Imagine using a scalpel to cut out a slab of cookie dough. That's kinda what it's like. After she removes the scar, Lee stitches up the incision like the pro she is.

There are various ways to make atrophic scars go away, according to Healthline-an excision being one of the more extreme treatment options. Less-intensive options include chemical peels and fillers injected under the scar.
