Finally fit and firing after an injury-ravaged 2014 and an inconsistent 2015, Belarusian 14th seed Azarenka is seen as the main challenger to Serena Williams' crown at Melbourne Park.
Australian Open: Victoria Azarenka beats Van Uytvanck
Two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka claimed a crushing 6-0 6-0 win over Alison Van Uytvanck in the first round on Tuesday.
And with a substantial amount of fans watching on after Lleyton Hewitt's first-round victory, Azarenka barely raised a sweat in the embarrassing double-bagel triumph on Rod Laver as she maintained her unbeaten start to the year, having taken out the Brisbane International.
The 26-year-old former world number one benefited from an error-riddled display from Van Uytvanck, who tallied 15 unforced errors compared to the former's three in the opening set alone.
And it was even worse in the second set, summed up in the fifth game when the Belgian fired a routine volley into the net.
