Defending champion Jack Sock will meet Juan Monaco in the final of the US Men's Clay Court Championship after getting past John Isner in the semi-finals on Saturday.

American Sock needed one hour, 27 minutes to knock out countryman John Isner 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 in Houston.

While Isner was typically strong on his first serve, firing 14 aces in the match, Sock had a better percentage of return points won.

Sock held his nerve to take the tie-break in the first set, and needed just one break-point opportunity to win the second on his way to the final.

The 23-year-old will have the chance to claim back-to-back titles at the ATP 250 event when he meets Monaco in Sunday's decider.

Monaco eliminated third seed Feliciano Lopez 6-4 6-2 in one hour, 40 minutes earlier in the day.

The Argentinian broke his Spanish opponent five times to qualify for his first ATP final since the Buenos Aires Open in 2015, where he lost out to Rafael Nadal.
