Arsene Wenger advises former player on coaching role

Arsene Wenger has warned Thierry Henry that he will have to undergo a 'psychological and mental transformation' if he wishes to succeed as a manager.

Arsene Wenger has advised his former player Thierry Henry of what he has to do to become a successful coach.

Arsenal record goal-scorer is currently the working with Arsenal's Under 18s while undertaking his coaching badges.

Though he was a successful player in his playing days, Wenger thinks Henry will have to undergo a 'psychological and mental transformation' if he wishes to succeed as a manager.

'[Henry] will discover what the job is about and you have to go through that process if you want to one day manage a football team," Wenger told Arsenal's official club website.

"The job of a player is centred on you and the job of a coach is centred on others. You find you just focus on others and how you can help them.

"It demands a psychological and mental transformation that is not always easy. It also demands how to get what you know is available in other people in the most simplistic way."

Henry who also works as pundit recently starred in an epic advert for the .

The 90-second advert takes us 13 special moments of the English Premier League with Frank Sinatra's 'That's Life' plays.

"They said, 'Thierry...is this the best league?' I said, 'Let me get back to you," Henry says before appearing in all 13 special scenes of the EPL.
