The Head of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Observer Mission to Nigeria, John Agyekum Kufuor, has encouraged Nigerians to remain peaceful after the results are declared.

John Kufuor made the appeal while addressing journalists in Nigeria.
“We appeal to Nigeria to continue in this mode through the entire process so that at the end of the day the people of Nigeria will be satisfied with themselves so that they use the process to give themselves the government they want and they deserve,” he said.

According to the Punch Newspaper, “the meeting which started inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was also attended attended by Vice President Namadi Sambo and a few presidential aides.”
“We appreciate the process is not yet done till the results are declared then of course the aftermath of the declaration, but we have come this far and we needed to give an interim report to the Authorities that mandated us to come and to the world to Nigeria to let everybody know that Nigeria has so far been at peace with the process,” Ghana’s former President said.
Collation of the results is still ongoing but APC’s Muhamadu Buhari has taken a lead in an election which remains too close to call until all the results are officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
